Team Competition- bench press- Orlando Power Team-2^nd, Willy’s Powerhouse- 1^st, Powerlifting- Willy’s Powerhouse- 1^st. First I want to thank my staff for another great contest. My spotters were Vincent, Chris, Perry, Spencer and Steve. My scorekeepers and announcers were Cindy, Dee and Mark. My door persons were Moms and Cetra. On the camera was Toya and my judges were Bryan, Adrian, Elaina, Bob & Tee. Thanks to the lifters that came from so far away- Mosbeh Elkinany and Nasr Hassan from Egypt, The Brazilian team led by Flavio Danna, Vilabaldo, Julio, Carlos, Ivan, Silvana, Eliane and Evandro and Carlos Rijos representing Puerto Rico. The teams from Guatemala, Georgia Republic and England couldn’t make it due to sponsorship problems and injuries. Thanks to my sponsors Organogold coffee and its representative Eric Leblanc and also Moses Battles for providing all of the weights for the warm-up room. Thanks to the following people for bringing teams and groups of lifters to the contest, Willy Wilcox, Moses Battles, Michael Churchman and Dave Duncan. We ended up with 81 lifters total and finished at 6:15pm with the awards ceremony ending at 6:45. We inducted five members to the WNPF Hall of Fame class for 2009. Congratulations to Burt Rosenfield, Vincent Brown, Roland Cote, Carlos Rijos and Tee Meyers. Tom Harrier had to withdraw from the deadlift due to a family problem that happened at the meet and we hope that his situation worked out for the best. Another lifter was disqualified from the WNPF for a minimum of three years for not attending the drug testing program after his name was called twice for testing and he was a no show when the event was over. Everyone took the drug test accept one lifter therefore this lifter is banned from WNPF competitions. Lifters keep in mind that once your name is announced and you do not attend drug testing for any reason you will be banned. We will not mention this lifter in the WNPF results or in any publication but all WNPF meet directors will be informed of this lifter so he cannot lift in any other WNPF event. With this DQ Charlie Paige is now the best lifter in the raw bench press and Mike Renfroe is the Champion in the 220 raw bench press division. Some people wanted to know how some lifters were setting so many WNPF LIFETIME records. WNPF LIFETIME has been around for two years now there are many records that are being set due to us just starting this new league in 2008. Many of these lifters also hold WNPF records also. When we decided to start this league many of them switched over to WNPF LIFETIME to go against all lifetime drug free lifters but keep in mind there are still many lifters that compete in the WNPF that are lifetime drug free and they have chosen to stay in the WNPF for now and maybe one day they will switch over or compete in both sanctions. The 2010 WNPF Worlds will be held in Guatemala City, Guatemala on October 23-24. The WNPF World bench, deadlift & powercurl will be held in Atlantic City, NJ in November. The WNPF LIFETIME Worlds will be held in Atlanta, GA. in November also. There will be more to come about this meet soon. Thanks.
