*-WORLD RECORD, !- WNPF LIFETIME LIFTER, BL-BEST LIFTER, SP- SINGLE PLY, UNL- UNLIMITED LIFTER

This was a great meet, great meet. We started at 10 am and finished at 2:30 pm, we held a Powerlifting and Strongman contest all in one. I must thank Johnny Gayton from Warner Robins for sponsoring this event and allowing us to use his facility for this event. We had planned to have a Powerlifting, Strongman, Fitness and Wrestling Championships on Saturday and Sunday.  The Powerlifting and wrestling went great and the strongman went on with two contestants. The fitness contest never panned out as planned. Were going to try this event again in 2010 but were going to add a bodybuilding contest to the list of events. We had four women in this event, all four were from Macon, Ga. everyone could tell this was their first championship but these ladies had fun and I hope that they will come back and lift in another WNPF event. With a few adjustments I think all of them will do well in this sport. Lisa and Laurie did manage to set world records in the powercurl in their classes. Luke Chatham lifted well along with his dad Brent in the bench press division, they both set world records in their class. Rob Quatela from GA. set a world record deadlift and total in the 165 teenage division, this will be a good matchup between Rob and Mike Wilcox at the WNPF Worlds. Charlie Paige benched 374 pounds weighing 154 pounds, very impressive. Trent Sosebee benched 270 lbs. at 15 years old. Jerry Vincent deadlifted 529 lbs., were going to miss Jerry he is on his way overseas to do some work for the USA. Steve Yeargin set all new world records in his class and posted a total of 1421 in the masters division. John Marsh from Fitzgerald benched an amazing 457 lbs in the 220 raw division. Mark Driggers benched 523 and missed a world record attempt in the 220 class weighing only 201. Jim Benson came to bench and that he did. He benched a new world record 683 pounds in the 242 unlimited class to win best lifter. Leo Monroe curled his way to victory with a 236 curl, how many guys can do that? Tim Moon benched 451 for a new world record and then turned around and did reps with 237 lbs for 22 total reps. Dean Nichols deadlifted 755 and missed 782 in the SHW raw class. Jason Wood, what can you say about him, he is no doubt the top WNPF full meet lifter. He squatted 904 pounds EASY, benched 617 and pulled 650. He went for 683 which would have given him a 2,200 total but he did finish with 2167. Kevin Slusser and Josh Millwood both teenagers from Alabama and South Carolina turned in outstanding performances in their weight classes. The Giant Mike Schultze totaled 1602 RAW for the win in the SHW raw division. I want to thank the WNPF staff, Dina, Rhonda, Adrian, Scott, Damon, Perry, Lester, Joey, Cindy and Moms for helping make this meet a success. Thanks to the 200+ spectators that came in for FREE to cheer on their favorite lifters. Thanks to our sponsors Johnny Gayton and Eyesight Associates and Johnny G’s, APT Pro Wriststraps and Alan Thomas and also Mike Lambert and PLUSA magazine. We hope to see everyone next year at this event. (WNPF)
